MAN Sports Delta XT Review
Modern Athletic Health and MAN Sports teamed up to give one lucky tester a full month supply of Delta XT, MAN's newest testosterone booster and recovery supplements for athletes. Here's what our tester had to say!
Personal background: I've been lifting 6 days a week 2 hours minimum since I can remember. After a while that kind of extraneous exercise can catch up to you, those gains you've been making start to come to a halt. Both mentally and physically I started to feel I just wasn't "there" when I was at the gym. I was plateauing. Luckily, right around that time I was given a bottle of Delta XT to review. Man Sports is known for some pretty solid products so I was hopeful for the best going in to the cycle. Effectiveness: So, does it work? Yes. After my 4 week cycle of Delta my weight had stayed the same (currently following a maintenance diet) however my reps/weight increased in almost every workout. The increases were nothing drastic but definitely enough to make a difference especially coming off a plateau. Before I get into specifics about my strength gains I want to talk about what this product REALLY helped me with behind the scenes. As instructed I was taking 3 pills about 30-45 minutes before bed, which I thought was slightly odd for a testosterone booster. As I woke up the next morning I felt odd, but in a good way. After a short nights sleep I woke up feeling wide awake and ready to attack the world, my head was clear and my legs were fully recovered from yesterday's workout which would normally have me staggering. The effect that Delta XT had on my sleep and recovery for the next 27 days was fantastic. Like I said before strength gains were definitely made. After sitting on a 385lb 1RM deadlift for as long as time not only was I able to reach my 405lb goal but I ended the cycle with a new PR of 415lb. Gains were also well made in my benching, I was able to add 10lbs to to every set in my 10x8x6 by the end. Instead of focusing on adding weight to my squats I wanted to pay attention to increasing my depth which I was successfully able to do while keeping my weight/reps the same. I had zero side effects from Delta XT, but those who are sensitive to fenugreek use caution. Overall, taking Delta XT by Man Sports was exactly what I needed to get past my plateau and so much more! No proprietary blends and a company that takes zero shortcuts in manufacturing; Man Sports come through with another great product.
Let's take an in depth look at the ingredients that make up Delta XT
Fenugreek Seed Extract (500mg)
Delta XT is much more than a epicatechin supplement incorporating a number of testosterone boosting and estrogen limiting ingredients.
Delta XT’s Fenugreek extract is standardized for 50% saponins, which is the same standardization concentration as the most popular Fenugreek extract, Testofen. Research is conflicting on this amount, as only one of three human trials showed a considerable boost in testosterone when supplementing this amount. However, that doesn’t mean Fenugreek isn’t a great ingredient. Among the trial that did show Fenugreek to boost testosterone, the subjects also saw a significant decrease in body fat. Fenugreek seems to work as an alpha-5 reductase inhibitor, which reduces the conversion of your testosterone to dihydrotestosterone levels (DHT) when dosed at 500mg. For those of you unfamiliar with DHT, it’s the hormone that is most often associated with hair loss. The prevailing theory is that Fenugreek may moderately boost testosterone simply by not losing any to DHT – a double-pronged victory here.
Maca Root (500mg)
Maca is a member of broccoli family that’s traditionally been used as an aphrodisiac. Aside from getting you in the mood, maca inhibits prostate growth and prevents the increase of zinc in the prostate which contribute to the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
If that’s not enough, maca root could theoretically improve fertility through increased production of sperm in the testes. This is ultimately a very solid feel-good ingredient that keeps your testosterone.
Diindolylmethane (DIM) (250mg)
I3C works similarly to DIM (Diindolylmethane), whose estrogen metabolites are shown here. Typically found in cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli, DIM is normally found in broccoli, and is the main bioactive component of indole-3-carbinol, I3C. It’s a more “refined” ingredient that gets right to the source of activity. It’s commonly used as an estrogen blocker and aromatase inhibitor. DIM has a couple mechanisms of action, all of which result in reduced estrogen levels. This different methods include: stimulating Phase I enzymes activating AhR in order to get more “good estrogen” and less “bad estrogen” and increasing 2-hydroxyestrone (good estrogen). This works well with the above ingredients to create a one-two punch that will supports healthy testosterone levels and keeps the bad form of estrogen at bay!
Epicatechin (100mg)
Epicatechin dropping myostatin! Will this work in younger users? Will it result in GAINS?
We’ve gone into great depth before onepicatechin previously, but here’s a quick refresher. Epicatechin is a beneficial flavonoid found most frequently in dark chocolate and confers a number of noteworthy effects when supplemented in efficacious dosages including:
This is ultimately the unique ingredient to Delta XT, and is the one that most users are still excited to try.
increased muscle growth and strength
better glucose tolerance
improved endurance
delayed onset of fatigue
increased nitric oxide production
ZMA Blend
Delta XT ends its muscle-building and recovery journey with the standardized dose of Vitamin B6 (10.5mg), Magnesium Aspartate (450mg), and Zinc Methionine and Aspartate(30 mg). ZMA supplements are frequently used by people looking to improve their quality of sleep. And as we all know, adequate sleep is just as important to building muscle as are high intensity workouts and proper diet. Vitamin B6 is one of the essential vitamins the body needs and is also a potent antioxidant used in energy metabolism and improve move by boosting serotonin levels. If you experience vivid dreams when taking ZMA (or Delta XT) before bed, this is why!
